Modified Yoshimura 4 into 1 header and a shorty stainless steel "muffler." There won't be anything quiet about it!

Rejetted and rebuilt!

CV carbs cleaned, rejetted, and hooked up with stainless hardware. Ready to mount up on the GS550 cafe racer.

Cross drilled spiral pattern and surface ground.

Aluminum tail is taking shape

Getting this bad boy roughed in and tacked together. I'll weld it up and smooth the welds but full metal finishing will wait il until the tank is done too.

Mitered the ends of the cut off frame tubes to mirror the angle of the tail section I'm working on for the GS550z

Hammer form beginnings

The GS550 cafe racer I'm working on is going to have a hammer formed, raw aluminum tank and tail. All the mounts are welded to the frame and the time has come to start shaping the tail. I made the bottom template yesterday and hammered the base into rough shape.

Holy Shit... Brake rotor cross drilling

I put my drill press to some damn good use, broke a bunch of bits, and eventually broke the drill press table mounting bolt in the process, but I got the brake rotors for the GS550 cafe bike all cross drilled and ready for surfacing. 192 1/8" pilot holes followed by drilling them all out with a 1/4" bit for final size. Tedious, annoying, but totally worth it.
